Brothers and Sisters,
At the recent 66th Quadrennial Convention, the IATSE adopted a Resolution supporting Single Payer Universal Health Care HR 676. This resolution requires that "all affiliates actively lobby the While House and congress for the passage of single payer health care to meet the needs of our members, our families and all America."
I firmly believe, as does our IATSE leadership, that this is the right thing for America, and I ask that each of you take the time to contact your Senators through the phone numbers and links on this page to demand the passage of a health care bill this year. While the passage of a bill in the House is a great step forward, the Senate remains a challenge, and we need to make Labor's voice heard at this critical time to remind our Senators that union members demand health care for all American citizens.
In Solidarity,
Ed Brown
Secretary-Treasurer
IATSE District 2
