U.S. Shuts Binion's Casino in
Las Vegas
Gamblers watched in disbelief Friday night as U.S. marshals
shut down the casino floor. The agents were enforcing a court
order against the property, which has not paid about $3 million
in pension and health-insurance benefits since last summer
for an estimated 400 union employees, said D. Taylor, secretary-treasurer
of Culinary Union Local 226.
CLOSED CASINO: Castaways Likely
Finished
The Castaways is unlikely to reopen, Las Vegas casino industry
executives predicted on Monday after the 49-year-old hotel-casino
was sold to Vestin Mortgage, the property's biggest creditor.

at Circus Circus
The wardrobe unit employed at Circus Circus, located on the
Las Vegas Strip, consists of 15 employees who voted in favor
of union representation in an NLRB election held on December
29, 2003 which resulted in a vote of 14 to 1
