Film Tax Credit and Tax Incentive Bills Aim to Bring
Production to
State
SB 1346, authored by Senator Helen and others is intended to bring more
film production to the state by creating a tax credit for motion picture
production investment in Arizona.
If the base investment is more than $100,000 but less than or equal to
$5 million, the credit is 10%; if the base investment is more than $5
million but less than $10 million, the credit is 15%; if the base investment
is more than $10 million, the credit is 20% of the actual investment
made by the taxpayer. Local labor requirements: In 2006, at least 25%
of the cast and crew must be residents of the state, in 2007 this increases
to 30%, and then in 2008 to 40%. See fact sheet below.
