AB 793 (Benoit) - Employer UI Tax Amnesty Program.
This bill would require the EDD to create an employer UI tax amnesty
program for a three month period under which an employer may apply
for a waiver of unpaid penalties and penalties imposed. Sponsor:

AB 1577 (Benoit) - Various Changes to UI. 1. Extends
the circumstances under which benefits paid to a claimant are not
charged to the employer's account; 2. Extends waivers for reporting
requirements; 3. Increases penalty for employer fraud; 4. Limits
UI benefits for discharge due to gross misconduct and for employees
who voluntarily quit; 5. Allows Director to extend ineligibility
for false claims, etc. for additional weeks; 6. Changes the formula
for maximum weekly benefits; 7. Changes some definitions relating
to base period; 8. Changes requirements regarding interagency sharing
of job data; 9. States that CSU employees are not subject to payment
of non-industrial disability benefits; 10. Deletes requirement for
report on Ca Migrant Master Plan; 11. Redefines 'wages'; 12. Technical
change regarding employer tax amnesty plan; 13. Technical change
regarding self-insurance plans; 14. Deletes requirements for department
to coordinate various employment plans; 15 & 16. Changes to JTPA;
17. Repeals career opportunities program; 18. Further technical cleanup.
